Breathwork that works
The Chemotherapy Day Unit at Pontefract Hospital is dedicated to providing a supportive and calming environment for every patient. We understand that a cancer diagnosis and the subsequent treatment journey can trigger significant psychological stressors, from anxiety and fear of recurrence to the physical challenges of treatment side effects. To address these needs, our unit has integrated Luma³ across every chemotherapy station and within our waiting room.
Our use of Luma³ in the unit focuses on enhancing both your mental wellness and physical comfort during your visit. Luma³ helps guide breathwork which has been shown in studies to help people manage anxiety and pain. Whether you are facing pre-procedural nerves or looking for a way to manage distress during chemotherapy, these tools are available to help you learn and practice breathwork. By incorporating this technology into our standard care pathway, we aim to provide you with valuable coping skills that you can use both in the clinic and at home.
